​Digital Learning – What Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) should students use?

We do not recommend one specific device, however we do provide our best advice as to a set of device minimum specifications.

Suggested device specifications for students in general studies:


Operating System: Windows 10 or higher, 
but "Windows S" does not work within Education Queensland.​ Please ensure that windows is not put into S mode.
Processor: Intel Core i3 or higher
Installed Memory (RAM): 8GB or higher
14" screen
256GB SSD Hard Drive or larger.
Battery Life 4 hours plus

(NOTE) Apple or Chrome Book devices are not guarenteed to connect to the schools Wi-Fi network, therefore we do not support these devices.

Microsoft Office for Students (It's free!)

The Queensland Department of Education have secured a deal so that Microsoft Office 365 for Students is available to install at home on up to five devices for free.

Microsoft Office on Apple iOS or Android:


To install the Microsoft Office applications on an iPad or Android device just go to the App Store on your device and search for the desired Microsoft Application and install it. e.g. search for Microsoft Word, then select the install option.
